Hi everybody.

I was on my way to buy an src mp40 but I somehow seem to have acquired an A&K m60 instead  . seeing as I now have this I may as well give Vietnam airsoft a go  :). just posting to ask where can I get a uniform for this period (apart from ebay).

Hi there mate,

Aside from eBay, Soldier of Fortune (www.soldieroffortune.com) is one of main places in the UK for most things Nam.  They do real and reproduction uniforms as well as webbing, protective gear and rucksacks etc.  There prices can be pretty high in my opinion but they are virtually a 'one stop shop'.

In the US, Moore Militaria (www.mooremilitaria.com) are a Vietnam specific online store run by the excellent Trey Moore.  Like Soldier of Fortune, he does a mixture of real and reproduction and covers just about everything.  His prices are good but his shipping costs can be high, plus you run the risk of getting hit for customs charges.

Epic Militaria do a few Vietnam bits, not much, but some.  They do a nice and (pretty cheap by comparison) First Pattern Jungle Uniform which I can recommend.

To round things out there are a number of Vietnam marketplace groups of Facebook (including a European one) where other collectors, reenactors and airsofters buy and sell all manner of things Nam related.  I've found some great bargains there too.

Hope this helps a bit mate.  Cheers, Tom

Sof repro fatigues are a good start unless you're a small size in which case real ones is easy

Oh dear, I just found the event and it appears my m60 wont be ready by then, oh well I will just have to join the viet cong . in which case I may have to borrow some ak midcaps. btw my rpk is currently firing at 430 fps, is it ok if I use it as a dmr or something?

430fps is too hot for a weapon of that type. An LMG has a limit of 375fps with a 30 meter engagement range, sorry pal.

I'm sure josh has some rental weapons you can use instead.

If it is an A&K M60 then who ever has it must be very busy as it only take approx 5 mins to change a spring on one as it has a quick change spring gearbox and only 4 screws hold the gear box in! And yes that rpk needs down grading as well if you wish to use it at eversley.
