I thought about starting a thread which people could post up their new acquisition, might give new comers a central point to see what people are getting:

Today I received my 6-colour choc-chip trousers, BDU patrol cap for Black Gold, PASGT helmet cover (a bit late for the 80s, but will do for Op desert shield)

A very smelly and dusty Czech M10 respirator and east German NBC mask hood, theyre close enough for US gas masks for the time being, only a few quid off ebay too. B)

Maybe someone could correct the 'Aquesitions' part of the topic title to acquisition... had a blonde moment there.

I recently picked up an 85 pattern combat jacket for 5.99 (bitlate for what we do but superficially looks about the same as a 68 so a good spare)

Got some Russian y-strap for 7 quid too.

Was given an m69 russian tunic (just need the trousers now)

Bought a Dragunov scope (the one i was borrowing at wastelander) for 30 quid which was a bloody good deal i though.

And waiting for a DDR para jacket to arrive that I got for 99p!

It;s probably just talc on it to keep the rubber ok in storage?

Can you not use those types without the internal filters and no one will know? shouldnt affect your breathing then.

BTW webby i can alter all the content of a thread as a mod it would appear but not the actual threads title, sorry mate.

Haha no worries.

I put the internal filters in as it gives it better shape, it does feel a bit like a face hugger off Aliens is trying to get to 3rd base with you though! Maybe I'm not doing something right lol

Brit DPM patrol cap from Mark.

Nice cap, weirdly hated by most the army and only really popular with the SAS!

Cos the patrol cap was associated with being a 'crow'? Once you'd earnt yer beret you never looked back! Guess the SAS didn't have that problem.

Yeah it was well out of stores by the time i joined and so had become a bit cool again. Only you couldnt wear them as issued.

My old one was cut up and stitched up to be like a camo flat cap. I used to wear it in harbour areas or for recce patrols.

Unrecognisable as the issue item but fashionable among our lot for a time.

Tons of stuff in the last few days.

British 80s 'gs bergan', some bits of US alice webbing for an sas loadout and the last bits to make up a second set of 'reduced order' 58 webbing.

Also today a soviet model 60 helmet, officers belt and cross strap, map case and strap, new ak74 ammo pouch (army type), long sleeve 'tele' shirt, respirator bag and ressie, makarov holster and a few bits of insignia!

My Mk 1 body armour is the same as your M69. Brits just added some rubber bits on the shoulders to stop the SLR slipping when aiming. :D
